More Than Beautiful is a celebration of the extraordinary women living ordinary lives all over the world. MTB is proud to present the publishing of a book comprised of stories about women who are more than beautiful! The book will also include a video and music. If you have a personal story you are willing to share or if you know of someone whose story should be shared, we would appreciate your story. Just click the link below.
Here are some possible ideas for stories....

Submit Stories under JOY if you know a woman who seems to find the bright side in every situation, who spreads cheer wherever she goes, or who always seems to be smiling; and it's contagious. This person is a ray of sunshine wherever she goes.

Submit stories under GENEROSITY if you have a story to share about a woman who is openly giving with her time, her talents, her belongings, her service, or her heart.
Submit stories under ACHIEVING GREATNESS if you know a woman who has exceeded above others in any aspect of life: overcoming adversity, reaching goals, found meaning in life, or has become an outstanding example of excellence to all around her, etc.
Submit stories under SACRIFICE if you know someone who has given up something dear to them at their own expense. This could include happiness, a life-long goal, her comfort, her possessions, or her pride.

Submit stories under STRENGTH for women who are strong amidst struggles, or who are valiant and firm in their convictions. These women are immovable.
Submit stories under CREATION for women who make something beautiful out of everything they touch. Someone who creates something all her own with her hands, or someone who can create a good situation out of one that appears to be bad.

We had a recent family gathering where my cousin's wife Tina served an absolutely delicious cheese potato soup. I'm telling you, this soup is really good. It is now one of my favorite things....and the fact that it's easy makes it even better!
EASY Cheese Potato Soup
12 oz. chicken broth
1 small carrot grated
1/2 cup onion finely chopped
1 tbsp dried parsley flakes
1/2 tsp celery seed
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
3 - 4 cups potatoes, peeled and cubed
3 cups milk
1/8 - 1/4 cups flour (depending on thickness desired)
8 oz processed american cheese cubed (Velveeta is great!)
6 bacon strips cooked and crumbled (or you can substitute chopped ham)
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Garnish each bowl with shredded cheese, chopped green onion for garnish.
In a saucepan, combine chicken broth, grated carrot, onion, parsley, seasonings, and potatoes. Bring to a boil. Cover with lid. Lower heat to simmer for 12 - 15 minutes. Check potatoes for doneness -- do not let them get mushy. Set aside.
Mix milk and flour in a separate saucepan. Add processed American cheese. Turn heat up and stir while bringing to a boil. Boil for two minutes while sauce thickens and cheese melts. (Important: keep stirring the entire time so cheese does not burn.)
Remove from heat. Add the cooked potato mixture, grated cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon. Serve with additional shredded cheese and green onions on top for garnish and added flavor.
* Make ahead idea! Follow instructions above, but boil the potatoes separately. Drain the water and add the cooked potatoes to the soup base. Tina suggested this idea and I think that this is the way I will make it on a regular basis. She also said it's great to even make this a day ahead of when you will serve it. The flavors seem to combine overnight. Magic!
